Start with purpose
Digital dentistry can sound technical, but the useful question is simple: what will this record help us understand or plan? Scans, photographs and digital design tools are valuable when they make a clinical decision easier to explain.
What a scan can and cannot tell you
A scan gives us a detailed record of shape and position. It does not, by itself, diagnose every problem, predict an exact result or replace an examination. We interpret it alongside your history, symptoms and clinical findings.
Ask why
Find out what a scan adds to your appointment and whether another record could answer the same question.
Ask what happens next
Understand who reviews the record, how it informs your options and whether you will have a chance to discuss it.
Keep care personal
Technology should support a relationship, not make it harder to ask questions. I will explain the images in ordinary language and keep the conversation focused on what matters to you.
Clinical note: Digital tools support professional judgement. They are one part of a careful, human assessment.
